San Diego ranch wedding venues offer a lot of benefits like easy, free, abundant parking, outdoor space, beautiful scenery, (typically) no noise ordinances, (typically) flexible floor plan lay-outs, plenty of amazing photo backdrops, and more. Step insideĀ San Diego ranch wedding venues…as opposed to San Diego barn wedding venues, which are not necessarily the same. Some wedding ranch venues have barns, but only 3 of these 8 San Diego ranch wedding venues have barns on-site. If you are more interested in the rustic/barn vibe, check out these San Diego barn weddings.
#1 SAN DIEGO RANCH WEDDING VENUE – BRADFORD RANCH, JAMUL
This is definitely the most affordable San Diego ranch wedding venue on the list with a Saturday price of $3,000. While Jamul is not an ideal spot for everyone, this venue is really not that far of a drive from downtown San Diego. Bradford Ranch lets you pick your own vendors and offers a lot of different lay-out options. FYI there is no cell reception here. Check out Jennae & Kyle’s full Bradford Ranch wedding post or just watch the video below.

#2 SAN DIEGO RANCH WEDDING VENUE – HAZY MEADOW RANCH, LAKESIDE
This is also a highly affordable San Diego ranch wedding venue (I believe, $4,000 all-included). But, in addition to the affordable price, the wedding packages here include a getting ready room for both people AND a horse-drawn carriage entrance/exit for the ceremony! Although you really do not have any flexibility with the floor plan lay-out, it’s not needed–everything is set up in an ideal way as is (rare!) The other thing that is great about Hazy Meadow Ranch is that you only need one DJ set-up/sound system as the ceremony spot is about 100 feet away from the dance floor. They have a built-in dance floor, gazebo, a cute little Western facade to hide the catering trucks, and a raised platform for either the cake or sweetheart table.
I also love that the layout keeps everything close together. A lot of ranch venues spread everything out (because they have the space to do so) but that just adds complication and ends up causing the party to splinter as people are spread out everywhere (Can you see my DJ perspective in there…let’s keep everyone close together because that translates into more dance floor energy!) #3 SAN DIEGO RANCH WEDDING VENUE – RANCH AT BANDY CANYON, ESCONDIDO
This is such a gorgeous venue if you are looking for a ranch experience that is more elegant than rustic. This venue also has a great lay-out with the ceremony site just a short walk away from the reception area. There are also on-site cabins for a few guests to stay overnight as well as getting ready rooms. You can see from the photos, this is probably the most picturesque ranch venue on the list (although Red Barn & Leo Carillo are also in the running). One downside of ranch weddings is that there is usually at least one steep slope guests will have to navigate, but the Ranch at Bandy Canyon is completely flat and accessible to any guest (wheelchairs, walkers). Check out Stella & Jose’s full Ranch at Bandy Canyon wedding here. Unfortunately, there is no video from this one either š

#4 SAN DIEGO RANCH WEDDING VENUE – MONTELEONE MEADOWS, MURRIETA
This is the only ranch venue on the list with a gorgeous pond! The venue does have a “barn” for the reception (but it’s more like just a structure than a “real” barn, but it doesn’t really change the experience). There is a gorgeous gazebo for the ceremony just a few hundred feet away from the barn (the pond is behind it). And, like Hazy Meadow, you can also get a horse-drawn carriage ceremony entrance here as well. The venue offers plenty of free parking, a getting ready room, and it’s all flat (like Ranch at Bandy Canyon). I would say of all the ranch venues on the list, Monteleone Meadows offers the fewest photo backdrops (you’ll end up taking all your pictures by the pond most likely anyway so you’ll still get gorgeous pics but not a variety of settings). #5 SAN DIEGO RANCH WEDDING VENUE – LOS PENASQUITOS RANCH HOUSE, SAN DIEGO
This venue is a bit different than the other ones as it is in a public park and the others are privately-owned. This means the cost is just a few hundred dollars–yea! The ranch house itself is an historic monument and very beautiful. It is surrounded by an orchard. There is plenty of parking. It’s also flat and easily accessible to walkers and wheelchairs. Downside…no bonafied ceremony site (although plenty of gorgeous trees you can use) and no shade. There are some noise restrictions and the event must end fairly early due to it being in a public park. Los Penasquitos Ranch House is on my list of affordable San Diego wedding venues. #6 SAN DIEGO RANCH WEDDING VENUE – RED BARN RANCH, PAUMA VALLEY
This venue is unique from these other San Diego ranch wedding venues in that it is full of gorgeous antique/rustic furniture and decor. Hello amazing detail shots! Not only is the landscape crazy beautiful but so is the barn. They do have a few lay-out options here (2 different ceremony locations + 2 different dinner locations). There are noise restrictions, no on-site parking (a shuttle is required), and no more than 100 guests allowed. I highly recommend working with their coordinator Julie Edwards from Simply Regal. Check out Kelly & Chadd or Taylor & Travis’ full Red Barn Ranch wedding posts or just watch the videos below. I also have a whole post of Red Barn Ranch wedding tips you can check out as well.

#7 SAN DIEGO RANCH WEDDING VENUE – LEO CARRILLO RANCH, CARLSBAD
This venue offers a little bit of everything (except a barn)…although it is steep/hilly and difficult to navigate for wheelchairs/walkers. Other than that, there are getting ready rooms, a dedicated ceremony area, lots of parking, and great plant life and architecture. They also have a lovely pool and pool house right by the ceremony & reception area. The Leo Carrillo Ranch itself is, I believe, a historic monument as well and full of old world charm. The hill where the wedding area is has astroturf. The “signature” feature of this venue are the gorgeous peacocks that wander around the venue. Check out Blanca & Cameron or Camilla & Devon’s full Leo Carrillo Ranch wedding posts or just watch the videos below. I also have a whole post of Leo Carrillo wedding tips you can peruse.

#8 SAN DIEGO RANCH WEDDING VENUE – STALLION OAKS RANCH, DESCANSO
OK, I’m going to lay it out real world for you…Stallion Oaks Ranch is a drug rehab facility, BUT it is gorgeous, crazy affordable, and has a barn-ish structure and some amazing trees for a ceremony backdrop. It is hilly/rough terrain. There is no cell reception either. I believe you are limited to about 100 guests if you want to eat dinner in the barn. The bride I worked with here told me she paid $700 to rent the facility for the entire weekend, which included use of the yurts (like cabins for overnight guests to camp out in), pool, and kitchen. Stallion Oaks Ranch is on my list of affordable San Diego wedding venues. Check out Michaela & Cody’s full Stallion Oaks Ranch wedding post or just watch the video below.
