Nicole is exactly where I was 3 years ago….six months pregnant in April 🙂 We have/had the same due date–July 15th! So excited for her & Zac, who went on their first date (sharing their first kiss) at their high school’s winter formal THIRTEEN YEARS AGO!!! Love the story that brought me to their Coronado Cays Yacht Club wedding.
GETTING “MAUI-ED”
Zac popped the question in Hawaii….hence Zac & Nicole’s Hawaii-themed Coronado Cays Yacht Club wedding. I was lucky enough to work with one of my favorite San Diego wedding photographers, Paige from Forever Young (who provided the beautiful shot of Nicole above).
MAKING AN ENTRANCE
The wedding party entered to Jack Johnson’s “Banana Pancakes.” The bride & her dad entered to “Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World” by Iz. After a ceremony performed by their uncle, the happy couple exited to Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours.”
THE CORONADO CAYS YACHT CLUB WEDDING RECEPTION
After some gorgeous photos at the water’s edge, we introduced everyone to the Austin Power’s theme (so cute!) And, although their Seinfeld-inspired doggies were not in attendance, I did give Jerry & George a shout-out! The first dance, which included custom voice-overs, was Jack Johnson’s “Better Together.” In Nicole’s voice-over she talked about doodling “Mrs. Bowman” on her notebook when she was in high school! Ahhhhh…..
SEX & CANDY!
This Thursday wedding was pretty much what might be expected dancing-wise when it came time to get out on the floor. The photo booth was a huge hit (well, come on, it was right by the bar). Zac’s choice for the Garter Removal song was unique–“Sex & Candy” by Marcy Playground. ’90s throw-back! See it in the video here.
