Of all the San Diego wedding DJs around, Cori & Jarrett chose me to DJ and MC their country Pacific Views Event Center wedding on March 5, 2016.
THE LOVE STORY
Cori & Jarrett met on October 18, 2013, at a Jason Aldean concert when Cori’s friend drug Jarrett by the arm over to meet Cori. While Cori accepted a date with Jarrett, she canceled a few hours before he was set to pick her up. Hmmm…? The next week they rescheduled and Jarrett took her to the House of Blues and Downtown Disney…where the conversation came easy and the night just flew by. They killed time while waiting in line to see Lee Brice and Tyler Farr on their third date by sharing their first kiss.
During their first few months of dating, Cori & Jarrett were always saying, “I really, really like you” to each other…both terrified of those 3 little words…Finally, one day Jarrett couldn’t take it any more. He sat Cori down with a terrified look on his face. Cori was thinking, “Oh no, he’s going to tell me about his secret wife and kids in Mexico…” but, no, he just wanted to tell her he loved her.
On April 11, 2015, Jarrett casually took Cori down to Sunset Cliffs. During a ‘I love you more…No, I love you more’ debate, Jarrett decided to settle the argument once and for all by getting down on one knee and proposing. Jarrett’s cousin Jake was incognito and captured the whole thing on video. After some sparkling cider, Jarrett took Cori out to celebrate at George’s at the Cove, where all of her immediate family was waiting as a surprise.
Together they enjoy baseball and football games, going to concerts, and hanging out with family & friends.
THE CEREMONY
This Christian ceremony officiated by a family friend featured beautiful readings from “Captain Corelli’s Mandolin” and “The Bridge Across Forever.” The minister referred to it as “short and sweet.” The wedding party entered to Dierks Bentley’s “Love Grows Wild.” The bride entered to Kenny Chesney’s “You Had me From Hello.” After they were pronounced husband & wife, Cori & Jarrett exited to Kristian Bush’s “You Light Me Up.”
THE PACIFIC VIEWS EVENT CENTER WEDDING RECEPTION
The wedding party was introduced to Jason Aldean’s “My Kinda Party.” I welcomed the newlyweds to Dierks Bentley’s “Am I the Only One.” Cori & Jarrett shared their first dance to George Strait’s classic “I Cross My Heart.” After toasts, parent dances, and a group photo on the dance floor, I got the dance floor started at this Pacific Views Event Center wedding with a Two Step dance lesson (check it out in the video below).
Cori & Jarrett chose some very cute songs for the garter & bouquet. Jarrett removed the garter to Joe Nichols’ “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off.” He put the garter on a football & tossed it to the single guys to Kenny Loggins’ “Highway to the Danger Zone.” And Cori tossed her bouquet to Shania Twain’s “Man! I Feel Like a Woman.”
THE PLAYLIST
For the cocktail hour & dinner for this Pacific Views Event Center wedding, the bride and groom requested country and guitar jams. Dinner must-plays included: Tim McGraw’s “Shotgun Rider,” Eric Paslay’s “Friday Night,” Thomas Rgett’s “Die a Happy Man,” Shania Twain’s “Up,” and George Strait’s “I Got a Car.” For dancing, the couple requested Thomas Rhett’s “It Goes Like This,” Dierks Bentley’s “Sideways,” Brooks N Dunn’s “Play Something Country,” Lil Jon’s “Turn Down for What,” & Tupac’s “Changes.” Great last dance pick….Luke Bryan’s “I Don’t Want This Night to End.”
Again, I was honored to be the one and only San Diego wedding DJ Cori & Jarrett trusted with their big day. Thank you! See more at #wrightdowntheaisle2016 or in the video here.
