Red Hawk Golf Club Wedding 1

July 12, 2014, was a day of, let’s say, “surprises” for Jillian & Daniel. They found out the week before their wedding that their venue had double-booked their wedding site. They ended up having their Red Hawk Golf Club wedding moved to a fairway near a lake, which wasn’t too bad…except that there were no bathrooms. Or shade. Or electricity. Then about 10 minutes before their ceremony was set to begin, their Best Man realized that he’d left their wedding rings at his house in Murrieta.

THE WEDDING RING CAPER!

Jillian & Daniel decided they wanted to wait for the Best Man to go get the wedding rings…so I opened the Polaroid photo station early, invited guests to the lemonade & iced tea table, and turned the volume up just a bit from the more somber “waiting-for-the-ceremony-to-start” mood.

Despite the obstacles (oh, and 18 people in the wedding party–not including the bride’s & groom’s parents), dinner was served in a timely manner. Jillian & Daniel kept smiling & made the best of everything. Although we had to cut the Money Dance, there was still time for the 7-8 toasts they’d scheduled & one hour of dancing. In that hour, I played the two most important songs of the night, two secret dedications–“You’re the Inspiration” by Chicago from Jillian to Daniel & “She’s Everything” by Brad Paisley from Daniel to Jillian.

THE MUSIC @ THIS RED HAWK GOLF CLUB WEDDING

While country music reigned during the prelude, cocktail hour, and dinner, the ceremony songs were instrumental piano covers: “A Thousand Years” & “Bless the Broken Road.” The Grand Entrance songs were “Sweet Home Alabama” & Gretchen Wilson’s “Here for the Party.” The First Dance (“Amazed,” Lonestar) was staged so that guests circled up around Jillian & Daniel blowing bubbles….and magically already found themselves on the dance floor right before open dancing! Hmmmm…..funny how that works! The garter was removed to the “Mission Impossible” theme. The bouquet was tossed to “Lady Marmalade,” Christina Aguilera.
