Once upon a time at this Cuyamaca College Water Conservation Garden wedding…well, a teensy bit before that, Karie (better known as “Bear”) & Sue met through their softball team. They did not have a real conversation until they’d already played on the same team for years. Ironically, at the outset of that conversation, Bear’s thinking was that she’d help Sue meet someone (they were out at a bar). HA! Life does have a sense of humor.
THE CEREMONY
Bear + Sue’s Water Conservation Garden wedding was on May 30, 2015. These ladies got married in the amphitheater at garden. Sue wore an olive dress from DÁngelo Couture that had been altered to have a very, very light pink layer of lace over the top. While it might not sound too attractive on paper, it was quite breathtaking! Bear & the wedding party entered to the instrumental version of Hunter Hayes’ “Wanted.” Sue & her dad entered to the real version with words. After a ceremony performed by their friend, the happy couple exited to Thompson Square’s “Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not”?
THE WATER CONSERVATION GARDEN WEDDING RECEPTION
The photo booth kicked off during the cocktail hour, which was at the entrance to the garden. The head table was by a gorgeous lily-pad-covered pond. The wedding party & newlyweds were officially introduced to Lee Brice’s “Parking Lot Party.” After dinner, toasts, the First Dance, & a Combo Father-Daughter Dance, we kicked off the dancing!
THE DANCING
After seeing Bear dance the choreography for both Madonna’s “Vogue” & Janet Jackson’s “If” & Sue “Get Low,” the newlyweds exited in grand fashion with sparklers leading the way to a classic antique Ford (I believe from the ’20s). See it all on the video here.
