You ask who the heck are the “San Diego Wedding Rock Stars?” Feyonces, they are other San Diego wedding pros I’ve done weddings with here in the 619 (or nearby) that were awesome to work with, talented, friendly…you know, the kind of vendors you probably want for your wedding, right? Drum roll please…let me introduce you to Katelyn McCullough from EC Stylebar. Katelyn attended my presentation on Pinterest marketing at the Wedding MBA conference a few weeks ago. She contacted me after the conference and asked if we could meet up. Her mobile beauty bar is so damn fresh, I had to include her in this feature even though we’ve never done a wedding together.

How did you start doing weddings?
We actually fell into it really. We were approached by a bride needing hair and makeup for her wedding, and we saw that our beauty concierge service could definitely solve a lot of the issues for brides leading up to their wedding day & the day of.
Most interesting thing that ever happened at a wedding you worked?
It was last year at a wedding we did at a private home in La Jolla. The couple is from Argentina and most of the family flew in from Argentina as well. So after all of them were ready, they wanted to take a group picture. They all clambered on to the bed and then jumped. The bed broke, it was hysterical. They were all laughing and having a great time, so I don’t think they were upset at all.
Favorite wedding blog & why?
I really love Green Wedding Shoes, because they showcase all the unique and personalized details of a couple’s wedding. We love making each experience really unique for a couple, so GWS really fits what we are all about as well.
When you are not at a wedding on any given Saturday, what would you most likely be doing?
I would be riding my horse and spending time with friends and family. Brunch is probably happening, with a pineapple mimosa in hand.

If you could tell the wedding industry as a whole one thing, what would it be?
Relationships are key. We are always trying to build and maintain relationships with the individuals we work with, and because of them we continue to get lots of weddings.
If you could tell engaged couples everywhere one thing, what would it be?
Enjoy it all. It doesn’t have to be stressful, so don’t let it be. Let others handle the stress for you.
