Paul & Stephanie met on the subway in New York City! What a love story. I had the pleasure of DJing their Los Penasquitos Ranch House wedding reception on Friday, October 24, 2014. We were nervous about how the daytime lighting & timing would effect dancing, but the crowd brought their dancing shoes…and I brought the energy!

I learned a great little trick from Stephanie’s mom too….she provided the appetizers during cocktail hour instead of having the caterers do it. DIY divine! Calamata olives, exotic cheeses, veggies & dip, gourmet flavored olive oils with cut bread pieces, fruit, hummus. OMG!!! It was soooooo good, AND she told me she bought everything at Costco, saving a bundle. The meal was great too…paella to honor Paul’s Spanish heritage.

After the Grand Entrance, toasts, & special dances, we cut the cake then presented Stephanie’s bouquet to the longest married couple in attendance (Patty & Frank, 49 years).
Stephanie & Paul wanted lots of older music like the Beatles, Monkees, Jackson 5, Four Seasons, B-52s, Michael Jackson, Prince, & Journey, which is great for getting most wedding crowds going. We had just 65 guests in attendance (almost all of them from out of state).

I was happy to work again with my friend Allissa Stockman of Allissa Stockman Photography. Alissa is always shooting something–never just standing around. She dresses up, realizing that just because she’s behind her camera that doesn’t make her invisible! She’s positive, friendly, and not afraid to get down low or up high for capturing interesting angles! We met last year at the Wrightwood Guest Ranch for Shaun & Jenny’s wedding. Can’t wait to see her finished product with Stephanie & Paul’s big day!
