Of all the bilingual San Diego wedding DJs in America’s finest city, Marisol and David chose yours truly to DJ and MC their Martin Johnson House wedding on Saturday, April 21, 2018 (that’s my birthday BTW–woot woot).
THE LOVE STORY
Marisol & David met in 2004 when Marisol’s sister told David that she had a sister who thought he was cute. In June 2015—a day after their roommates moved out–Marisol & David found themselves with an empty house all to themselves. David thought it was the perfect time to start their life together. He proposed and I think we all know how Marisol answered 🙂 Together, they enjoy Netflix, hanging out with their dogs Penny and Ruby, going to the movies, facials, and playing Mario Kart.
THE CEREMONY
Marisol & David got married at Church Mary Star of the Sea.
THE MARTIN JOHNSON HOUSE WEDDING RECEPTION
After a mariachi band entertained during Cocktail Hour & dinner, we got the toasts rolling. Then M&D did their First Dance to “At Last,” Etta James–a classic! The Father-Daughter Dance followed to Ismael Miranda’s “Mi Niña Bonita.”
Next David danced with his mom to Simon and Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” I introduced this dance by saying, “David admires his mom’s positive outlook on life. She’s an excellent role model, great leader, and he appreciates all of the love and support she has given him throughout the his life. Y ahora David y su madre, Robin, van a compartir un baile especial.”
After we started the dancing at this Martin Johnson House wedding, we did break to cut the cake to Nat King Cole’s “L-O-V-E” and toss the bouquet to “Single Ladies” by Beyonce.
THE BILINGUAL PLAYLIST
For the dance music playlist at this Martin Johnson House wedding, the bride and groom requested lots of Top 40, some Hip Hop, Rap, R&B, and Motown/Funk, and about 50% Spanish music (Salsa, Merengue, Cumbias, & Reggaeton). Marisol & David hired me to handle their San Diego photo booth as well. See the full wedding photo booth gallery.
Again, I was honored to be the one and only San Diego wedding DJ Marisol and David trusted with their Martin Johnson House La Jolla wedding. Thank you! See more at #DudeUrGettingADale.
