AS OF JANUARY 2018, THEY ARE NO LONGER HAVING WEDDINGS AT THE RED BARN RANCH!
If you have chosen the Red Barn Ranch, a breath-taking mountain barn in Pauma Valley, as your wedding venue, kudos! This is a truly gorgeous venue with a ton of lay-out options. Based on my experience working here, I’ve compiled some secrets to a fab Red Barn Ranch wedding.
PROS OF HAVING A RED BARN RANCH WEDDING
- Gorgeous. Beautiful. Breath-taking.
- Million dollar mountain top view
- The bathrooms are centrally located
- No need to rent vintage fixtures or a lounge–the Red Barn Ranch is full of pretties!
- Secluded and private
- Venue rep Julie Edwards from Simply Regal is FABULOUS!
- Pick any caterer, photographer, officiant, or DJ you want
- Ceremony site located on the property
CONS OF HAVING A RED BARN RANCH WEDDING
- No on-site parking–have to use a shuttle service
- Noise restrictions
- The max capacity inside the barn is limited (100 people or less I believe)
None of these “cons” should be seen as deal-breakers. I still have no doubts about giving the Red Barn Ranch 2 thumbs up!
TIPS FOR A FAB RED BARN RANCH WEDDING
- Because you have to end somewhat early, have your ceremony early so you have enough time for the ceremony, photos, dinner, formalities, and some dancing
- Have dinner and dancing in the same location (i.e. don’t have dinner under the tree but dancing in the barn)…this will limit how many people dance, if that’s a priority for you. Keep everything centralized.
- Only use the built-in stone bar near the house for Cocktail Hour–not during the Reception (if at all). It’s too far away from where you will most likely have dancing. Causing guests to disperse will dwindle the party energy and reduce dance floor awesomeness.
- Don’t wear heels, especially if you are getting married at the lowest ceremony spot (the one farthest from the barn).
- Limit the # of guests so it’s not too crowded (especially if you are having the reception in the barn).
- Hire the Red Barn Ranch’s venue rep Julie to be your day-of coordinator. Seriously, she is worth every penny. This venue has a few complexities that Julie is very, very familiar with…plus, she’s a crazy, awesome florist as well.
